Yoga has steadily made its way into the corporate world to offer support for employees, employers, and the business overall. Yoga can help to alleviate stress and burnout which are common in corporate or workplace settings. Specific yoga poses to support balance, posture, and clear thinking are selected along with various meditations and breathing practices. Corporate yoga is offered as classes, workshops, or extended trainings which cover mindfulness and resilience in the workplace. A private events room is available for small groups on-site and we can also travel to your business or office.
Yoga therapy is an integrative therapeutic approach using the sacred tools of yoga (e.g. physical movements, breathing techniques, meditation, mantra, and more) to promote healing and well-being in the individual. Evidence-based research shows that yoga can help to reduce chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and stress, and increase overall quality of life.
We are social creatures by nature and being in a community setting may be beneficial to growth and optimal well-being. Research shows certain group settings can be just as therapeutic and transformational as private one-on-one sessions. Various classes and workshops are offered throughout the year that focus on different areas from chronic pain to managing stress.
Reiki is a gentle, energetic practice that works on the subtle layers of the body. It can help to reduce stress and tension, and increase balance and harmony within. There are no known negative side effects or contraindications to Reiki. By accessing a universal light energy, the practitioner gently touches the body in various places to promote healing and well-being. Other beneficial outcomes may include reduced stress, pain, and increased clarity. Comfortable clothes are worn and you have the option to not be touched during the session.

In 2007, she found the practice of Reiki while living in Philadelphia and completed her first yoga teacher training in New Jersey.
She works to empower others into their own self-healing and believes in whole-person care. Through the lens of yoga, a custom plan of care is co-created to promote healing and well-being using techniques of yoga like physical movements, breathing practices, meditation, and more. Some conditions she has worked with include: Anxiety, Depression, Arthritis, Chronic Pain, Cancer, COPD, PTSD, Autoimmune Diseases, and various acute injuries.
While at MUIH, Maggie completed an internship at a Johns Hopkins Hospital offering yoga therapy in the Oncology and Acute Care departments. She also works as a yoga researcher and mentor. Her most recent work surveys the characteristics and occurrence of yoga therapy in clinical healthcare settings. It was presented at the 2019 MUIH Research Symposium and submitted to the 2019 Symposium on Yoga Research (SYR) at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
